Relapse Prevention Plan

Relapse Prevention Plan

Relapse is defined as re-engaging in a behavior that you quit. A common illustration of relapse is people who have quit drinking and then they start again. Although most commonly associated with drug and alcohol abuse, relapse can include all types of behaviors. When I help someone turn from a destructive lifestyle pattern I turn them to a new all encompassing healthful life style. Faith Centered Fitness is the all encompassing healthful lifestyle program that step by step shows people exactly how to make healthful, God directed choices in each area of their life. To help people stay quit I have them focus on what to do now.

Many people struggle with the same issues over and over again. I did too. I tried many conventional rehab programs to quit drinking and stay sober. I relapsed with alcohol for about 30 years. The first time I quit drinking I was only 13 years old. Then I quit again at 19, 27, 29, 33,36 and finally at 42. I am now 48. I have not had a drink since I was 42. This might not seem like a big deal to some of you but to me it is very cool! I very rarely think about drinking. I do however think of it once in a while. When those thoughts come into my head I have learned to control my mind and focus my heart on my love for the Lord and my love for my current life. I have learned through many struggles that I do not need to battle alcohol even one more time. I am someone who will hopefully never take another drink. I realize that I do not want to go around that mountain any more. The techniques I have developed can help anyone overcome their battles.

If you want to participate in my relapse prevention plan you have to be committed to staying quit. If you desire this in your heart and you are willing to do what it takes I can help you, through the grace of God. We are all different. In order to set up a relapse prevention plan for you we will need to talk, determine your goals and set a plan and implement it. If you are just leaving a rehabilitation facility I will be happy to work with you and your counselors. Relapse prevention can be intense. We will work together to get you to focus on establishing the life you want to live. You will also develop the tools, skills and desire to maintain your new healthful lifestyle.
